Rex Murphy's Dec. 1 rant is a load of populist crap. Rex argues that Canada should not take drastic measures to reduce its carbon footprint because the tar sands are small potatoes compared to the emerging world's pollution. This is analogous to saying you aren't going to stop kicking your victim in the ribs unless your friends stop kicking him in the head.
Rex seems like he's just putting in his time these days.
